What a difference a year makes: after spending 12 months being portrayed as the teammate from hell at McLaren, Fernando Alonso is back to his brilliant best.

Not only did he manage to wrestle his slightly below par Renault to two wins, get his head back together and regain his rightful reputation as the best driver on the grid – fact – he also took some time out in China to get back to his roots and do some karting.
