Skoda launched the Yeti baby SUV at Geneva. It's a VW Tiguan underneath, but we reckon it looks cool
Geneva 2009: Skoda Yeti
Skoda has unveiled its new baby SUV. It’s called the Yeti and we reckon that although it looks a bit quirky, it’s kinda funky too
The Skoda Yeti is based on the VW Tiguan, but while the VW version is a bit dull and predictable to look at, the Skoda is fun and characterful.

Its boxy profile, chunky wheelarches and interesting headlight/spotlight arrangement are much more pleasing than the VW’s. The Skoda’s interior has a really convincing quality feel about it too, and there’s bags of room in the back.
When the Yeti arrives in the UK, it’ll be offered with a plenty of engine options.
Two petrols are offered – a 105hp 1.2-litre front-wheel drive or 1.8-litre 160hp four-wheel drive, while there are three versions of the same 2.0-litre diesel – the entry-level 110hp can be had with either front or four-wheel drive, while the 140hp and 170hp versions are four-wheel drive only.
