Hot looking Audi R8 V10 RS Clubsport thing spied

Could Audi be plotting an RS version of the R8 V10 supercar? We’d like to think so. These spy shots were taken at the ‘Ring yesterday, and show a black Audi R8 V10 with some interesting additions.

For a start, the R8 is registered to quattro, and has the familiar HN German number plate prefix for that area. So far so official… Look a bit closer and there’s Audi ceramic brakes hiding behind these V8-style rims, although our spy man told us the car ran on both V8 and V10-style ones during the day.

But more interesting is the big TT RS-style fixed rear wing which has been plonked on the back of the R8. There’s also a revised diffuser lurking under the rear bumper, while the front bumper has gained some new aero winglets. Completing the look are motorsport-style clips on the bonnet.

While this might just be a new aero kit which will be offered to owners who want ther R8s to look a bit more race-ready, we hope that this is the first R8 RS mule, which will be a slightly more powerful, stripped-out lightweight halo model which shows how Audi can do power and efficiency like no-one else. Fingers crossed.
