Mini E Test Drivers Wanted

Become a Mini E prototype test driver and receive a huge discount on leasing costs. The Mini E is a fully electric version of the highly popular supermini.
Apply now to receive a set of keys to a fully electric Mini prototype packing a Cooper S threatening 204hp. Hosted by the BMW group, the opportunity offers members of the public a £220 saving per month on the £550 lease fee for this high spec Mini.

Twenty cars are available this December for a six month period, with a further twenty in 2010. All the Mini Es will be allocated to people who fulfil certain criteria. The successful applicants must live in the South East of England and have use of a private garage, car port or parking space at home.
Once your electric charge point is installed the test driver must pay for all electricity used but VAT, insurance and maintenance are all covered by selected Mini dealerships. Any immediate technical issues will be assisted by the BMW Group ‘flying doctors’.
Part of a £25m fund by the Technology Strategy Board, the Government-backed organisation that promotes technology innovation across the UK, this scheme targets testing over 300 ultra-low carbon vehicles. On board technical data-logging devices, will be reviewed by an engineering centre at Oxford Brookes University.
