Reva NXR REVive charged with world first
Words: George Chapman
REVA introduces the NXR and NXG electric cars. Now with remote charging ability and added ugliness.
REVA, the company that brought us the electric city car, the G-Wizz, has released their latest interpretation of a four-seater hatchback.
Resembling a block of hideously mouldy green cheese the NXR is sure to set the eco-warriors amongst us off in a rage of emotion with its ‘range anxiety’ reducing technology.

What does interest us here at iMotor though is the new technology designed at recharging these drastic-plastic runabouts remotely.
The technology will allow drivers to request an instant remote recharge simply by mobile phone. The model on show at Frankfurt next week, the REVA NXG, a “sporty two-seater complete with targa roof”, will feature the REVive telematics technology, a world first for REVA.
NXR customer cars are due on sale by 2010 with the NXG model to follow in 2011, both featuring the new charging technology.
A fantastic idea, if it works. Our guess regarding the chances of success for REVA, are, I’m sorry to say, remote.
