New BMW 5 Series teaser pic and video
The new BMW 5er goes balls deep
The first ever image of the new BMW 5 series is here and it's... balls.
Behold, dear reader, the first of what promises to be a long line of BMW 5 Series teaser pictures (and videos, probably).
This one, made using BMW’s own ‘Kinetic Sculpture’ installation, shows a softer, less extreme design that the current 5 er.
If the ‘sculpture’ is to accurate scale, the new 5 Series will have quite a high shoulder line and rear end.
The ‘Kinetic Sculpture’ itself is made from 714 small metal balls suspended from the ceiling, and when in full on ‘display’ mode put on quite a show. The balls themselves are all individually controlled – so the patterns you can make with them can get rather complex. Anyway - the teaser video for the new Five in beneath, so you'll see what we mean.
We do wonder what BMW would do to a visitor if they threw a coat across the room? Shoot them, probably. Or maybe use the tangled balls as makeshift anal beads? Who knows…
The new 5 Series will be officially launched on Monday 23rd November at 7pm – and we’ll have all the details as they arrive.
