McLaren MP4-12C Supercar Development on Video
Here’s some cool footage of the McLaren MP4-12C supercar development at the Nurburgring in Germany, Sakhir in Bahrain and even the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold near Woking.
McLaren is planning to release a whole series of videos charting the creation, development and construction of its new MP4-12C supercar before the model is released in Spring 2011.

And in this first instalment we get to see how the famous F1 firm has applied its considerable engineering know-how to creating a supercar that’s likely to set new standards in the small supercar segment.
For a start, the eight XP MP4-12C prototypes have been put through their paces in locations ranging from the Arctic Circle to the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain, via the Nurburgring and the Top Gear test track.
The film also hints at how much crossover there has been with the F1 team, helping to speed development of the car in the simulator and to analyse data obtained from all the lengthy test sessions.
Notable faces in the film include Dick Glover, who’s Technical Director at McLaren Automotive and the chap responsible for the 50-strong Testing and Development team; and Chris Goodwin, who’s the chief test driver and suspiciously good at presenting on video.

F1 engineering and development should mean that the McLaren MP4-12C supercar is ahead of the game when it arrives in 2011.
