Packing 370hp and 459Nm thanks to some extensive modifications to the induction, cooling and turbocharging systems, the RS370FR version of Ford's RS hatchback promises to shock and awe. The internals of the 2.5 litre, five cylinder motor however, remain totally standard.
Increasing both the power and torque can create traction issues with front wheel drive cars and even armed with Ford’s sophisticated new Revoknuckle system, GGR feel they have reached optimal levels with the 370 package.
GGR MD Graham Goode commented, “We’ve made a conscious policy decision to limit the engine’s torque, although there’s certainly more to come from the motor if we wanted.”
Running relatively low levels of boost ensures this RS remains civilized and reliable. Whilst it may feel like your driving a WRC rally car, the lack of exterior changes mean the 370FR looks unchanged from standard.
Fully fitted the package comes in at £3750 plus VAT, which includes GGR’s 12month / 30,000 mile warranty, a small price to pay for a proper family pocket rocket.
