To commemorate the launch of the new Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaeger-LeCoultre has released
its new AMVOX7 chronograph.

This is the latest in a long line of Aston Martin-inspired watches from the company, which is official timekeeping partner to the supercar brand.

The AMVOX7 is the first design to get Jaeger-LeCoultre's vertical trigger. This lets users access the chronograph function simply by touching the watch's crystal face; unlike most rival designs, there aren’t loads of buttons on the side. Click the vertical trigger at 12 o’clock to start and stop the stopwatch; press it at six o’clock to reset it.

The watch also has a 65-hour power reserve, and you can see exactly how much is left by using the two red bars – designed like fuel gauges – along the inner bezel by the 12 o’clock position.

There's a mixture of brushed and polished finishes on the 44mm titanium case, while the strap is made of alligator leather, and can easily be switched using the quick-release triggers on the back of the case. The watch has hour, 30-minute and 60-second counters, plus a date window at the centre of the dial, while the Aston Martin logo takes pride of place in the two o’clock position.

Unlike previous AMVOX watches from Jaeger-LeCoultre, the 7 isn’t a limited edition. But with a price tag of £17,400, it's not exactly going to be a common sight, either. And Aston Martin owners looking for the ultimate accessory to wear away from their car may also prefer to wait for Jaeger-LeCoultre to launch an anticipated transponder version of the watch, which can be used to unlock your car. A transponder version of the AMVOX2 is already available, but only for the DBS and Rapide for now, so it's likely that Virage, DB9 and Vanquish models are in the pipeline.
