Best new car deals – weekly (updated: 20/05/16)

SEAT has introduced its ‘Beautifully Made May Event’. The promotion means an extra £500 off any cars in the Mii, Ibiza, Toledo, Leon and Alhambra ranges if you decide to order one after a test drive. The offer applies to any cars ordered by the 31st of May and is available in addition to existing PCP offers.

The new Suzuki Baleno will be available to order on 1 June and will be launched with a PCP finance deal. For an entry-level SZ-T model, you can take up the offer without a deposit and Suzuki will contribute £1,000 to the cost of the car. That would leave you with 48 monthly payments of £199. Alternatively, you’ll be able to lower the monthly payments by paying a deposit up front. An initial payment of £1,679, for example, would lower the monthly payments to £159.

If you do most of your driving around town but want a car that can still cope with the odd motorway trip, you may want to consider the excellent Skoda Citigo. Until 30 June, the car is available with £500 cash back if you buy it on a PCP deal. Skoda contributes another £500 towards your deposit, leaving you with £2,178 to pay up front followed by 41 monthly installments of £105. You can also put down a smaller deposit and make higher monthly payments if that's a better fit for your circumstances.

Subaru is offering the Outback in 2.0-diesel SE Premium trim with two years’ interest free finance. Provided you can manage the 50% deposit required, you can then own the car for two years before paying the final payment with no interest on top.

Deals from brokers

It's always worth checking with reputable car brokers to see if you can get the model you’re after for less. After trawling the web, we’ve found some great deals:

Broadspeed has offers on the Seat Leon. You can get the 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol model in FR trim for £17,522 rather than £23,045.

Carfile currently has offers on the Mercedes C-Class range. For example, the C200d in SE trim is £25,647 instead of £29,380.

Mazda deals

We really like the new Mazda MX-5 here at Carbuyer, awarding the car 4.5 out of 5 stars when we reviewed it. If you’re in the market for fun, open-top motoring that won’t cost the earth, you should seriously consider the MX-5.

Mazda is doing its bit to help buying one even more appealing by allowing you to order one on a Conditional Sale deal. SEAT deals

The SEAT Mii is one of our favourite city cars. We think it's more stylish than the Skoda Citigo, a car with which it shares many parts, and it comes with more equipment, too. The three-door SEAT Mii by MANGO model currently on offer comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, 15-inch alloy wheels and air-conditioning. The PCP deal SEAT is offering means they contribute £2,750 towards the cost of the car. A deposit of £141 leaves you to pay £141 a month, with an optional final payment of £3,359.

That leaves you to pay a deposit of £1,599 and 36 monthly instalments of £99.
