The coverage will extend to new and used Vauxhall cars and include the benefits of Ingenie's black box technology. The black box – invisibly installed – collects data on how a car is being driven, including individual driving style, before sending driver feedback via a mobile app and website. Speed, cornering, braking and acceleration are all measured and monitored, with the policy being reviewed every three months. The best drivers could then receive a discount of up to 10 per cent on the first year of their insurance – provided they drive responsibly, drivers pay a lower premium.

"We wanted to provide young drivers who buy their cars through Vauxhall retailers with affordable insurance to help them get on the road,” said Mark Pinkney, Vauxhall's Marketing Programmes Manager. “Ingenie's technology and approach made them an obvious choice for this partnership. Vauxhall Insurance for 17-25 year olds powered by Ingenie will help make it more affordable for young first-time drivers but, more importantly, it will encourage young people to become better drivers through driving feedback.”
