Audi A7 Sportback hatchback - Practicality & boot space
The Audi A7 Sportback has lots of room even for tall rear seat passengers and a big boot, too
The interior is stretched in length by 21mm compared to the previous A7, so passengers in the back get more space, especially for their knees. Headroom gets a slight boost too, despite the coupe-like roofline, so six footers should be comfortable even on longer trips. There’s also three seatbelts across the back seats, which isn’t always the case in this class, and could come in handy.
Room for front passengers is pretty good too, with adjustment for the driver’s seat that almost feels infinite in its scope. In fact, the A7 can remember individual settings for up to seven drivers that can adjust 400 settings in the car.
Boot space
A hatchback bootlid makes the A7 Sportback much more adept at load-lugging than a similarly-sized saloon. Its boot opening has also been made wider, now measuring just over a metre for those trips to by flat-pack furniture. The boot itself can hold 535 litres of luggage, expanding to 1,390 litres with the rear seats folded down. These are slightly better figures than the Mercedes CLS and Porsche Panamera, with 520 and 495-litre boots respectively.
