Hyundai i30 Tourer reliability
While the i30 Tourer didn't make its way into our 2019 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, Hyundai as a brand has a bit of room for improvement, coming 22nd out of 30 manufacturers.
Owners praised their Hyundais for their build quality and the comfort they offered, while rear legroom, practicality and running costs also gained praise. Hyundai's cars don't drive as well as some rivals, while owners weren't too keen on the interior styling, but these were among the only areas where Hyundai lost ground.
Even if something does go wrong with your i30 Tourer, you’ll be well protected: Hyundai’s five year/unlimited-mileage warranty is one of the best in the business, and only beaten by Kia’s guarantee, which runs for two further years – albeit with a 100,000-mile mileage cap.
Safety
Really excellent news here: the Hyundai i30 Tourer is close to – if not at the – front of the pack when it comes to standard safety equipment. All cars come with auto-dipping headlights, lane-keeping assistance, a driver fatigue warning system and autonomous emergency braking.
Those features mean the i30 Tourer will adjust its headlights, keep you in lane, warn you if you’re looking tired and even attempt to stop for you in the event of a potential collision – all automatically. Such a broad suite of systems can only improve your safety and that of other road users.
Independent safety experts Euro NCAP haven’t tested the i30 Tourer specifically, but they assessed the mechanically similar i30 hatchback, awarding it five out of five stars. It got an 88% score for the projection it offers adult occupants, an 84% score for its protection of children.
