What a car, beautiful, noisy and very fast, however wind noise at speed is an issue (not evident in any Porsche I have ever owned). More importantly it has a serious fault when cold - it stutters every time (loses power/pulls back) for the first mile. It has done this from new and Jaguar do not recognise it, it has been back several times but they cannot feel what I feel. A recent computer upgrade has actually made it slightly better but it is still there. Does any other owner experience this? Regarding your review's pros and cons, a Nissan GTR may be faster as it is against the Aston DB9 and the Bentley GT but I know what car I would rather have....

I have owned a 2014 XKR-S for 4 years and it has so far proved very reliable & relatively cheap to service at the UK Jaguar dealerships using their discounted fixed-price servicing for cars over 5 years old. Add to this its rarity, virtually no depreciation so far, this is proving the best value high-performance car I have ever owned. To me it’s a gentleman’s British muscle car, a poor man’s Aston Martin Vantage maybe, & obviously not to everyone’s taste, but here’s my take on what’s good & bad! GOOD -rarity/depreciation, classic GT shape, awesome GT ability & also fun (but heavy) track car, old fashioned fun handling, deceptively fast, torquey engine, spine-tingling exhaust note (fun even when not breaking the speed limit!), supple chassis & quiet comfortable suspension even over poor roads, good luggage space (including using the near useless back seats), very comfortable & good looking cross stitched front seats, posh looking full leather interior, fully loaded spec as standard, Many parts relatively cheap when compared with comparable sports cars. BAD -very dated clunky small screen infotainment system, steering a little vague, chassis can’t disguise the car’s heavy weight, definitely more GT than sports car (F-Type R is far more sporty), traction not great at times, Michelin PS4s a must otherwise slightly twitchy handling, old fashioned interior, battery will often go flat if not used for 3/4 weeks CTEK charger essential, Jaguar an image problem to some.
What's the one thing you like most about your car?
The addictive sound of the engine
If you could improve one thing, what would it be?
The terrible infotainment system

A comfortable, practical, refined car that can be used daily for commuting and a superb continental tourer. Good quality leather interior, very supportive seats, (front seats are not ventilated), a good quality Bower & Wilkins audio system with rear facing camera, but the sat-nav feels dated. It's got an intoxicating exhaust note and a real fun car to drive. Boot space allows a couple of medium sized suitable cases to be stowed. A slightly harder ride than my previous 2011 5.0L XKR, however, this model is more purposeful and driver focused.
