The Kia Soul is well equipped, with the '3' being our pick of the trim levels. Comfortable front seats and a steering wheel that adjusts for height and reach make finding a good driving position easy.

In 2016, the Kia Soul was further updated with an improved, better-quality interior. Gloss-black and metallic highlights have been used to boost visual appeal and the materials it’s built from are nicer than before. All the switches and buttons look and feel surprisingly upmarket and are clearly and logically laid-out. A large eight-inch touchscreen is fitted in ‘3’ trim and above, further improving the looks inside.

Equipment

The Kia Soul looks like good value thanks to a comprehensive range of standard equipment. There are four trim levels: ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘Sport’.

‘1’ features a DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, USB and MP3 player connections, plus steering-wheel-mounted controls. ‘2’ adds 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and a seven-inch sat nav with a reversing camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The ‘3’ trim boosts the display size by an inch and adds leather seats (that are also heated in the front), keyless entry, front parking sensors and a JBL stereo along with 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Kia Soul Sport is given its own exterior look, with a restyled front bumper and sills with red highlights, twin exhaust pipes and a special set of 18-inch alloys. Inside, there’s a unique interior colour scheme and seats partly upholstered in leather. A special steering wheel and orange trim highlights complete the look.
