Kia Venga

The Kia Venga is a small people carrier that gets the basics right by providing plenty of cabin space and a big boot. However, the firm's petrol and diesel engines feel weak in this large vehicle, and the car has none of the personality of the Kia Soul. Some nice touches like a boot whose floor can be lifted for easier loading make the Venga practical, and there's a seven-year warranty, but it's not as good value as other Kias.

4.5 /5
  • pros:
  • Spacious cabin for five adults
  • Small size means it's good around town
  • Boot is big and clever
  • cons:
  • None of the engines are great
  • Value for money doesn't match other Kias
  • Bland styling

The Kia Venga's generous interior space is at odds with its small dimensions, which is impressive. But while rivals like the Citroen C3 Picasso and Renault Grand Modus offer quirky styling as well family carrying capacity, the Venga is bland to look at. Its cabin is built to last and comfortable, but there's little to surprise and delight - apart from the excellent seven-year warranty. The engine range is limited, and none are particularly sprightly.
