The Skoda Citigo e iV hatchback has more boot space and interior room than you’d expect in a car this size
The Skoda Citigo is one of the most comfortable and practical cars in its class. Four can get comfortable with room to spare, yet its compact external dimensions make it nippy and manoeuvrable around town. Also, as we have come to expect from Skoda, there are plenty of thoughtful features and design touches.
Skoda Citigo interior space & storage
Sit inside the Citigo and you immediately see the advantages of its squared-off shape. Even tall passengers can get comfortable in the front seats while still leaving space for two more adults behind, and those in the rear enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room. There are also two ISOFIX child-seat mounts as standard on all models.
The back seats are easily accessible on the five-door version, with wide-opening rear doors that give excellent access. You’ll also find plenty of smaller storage areas for items such as smartphones and bottles of water, including a large glovebox, a cubbyhole in front of the gear lever and deep door pockets. Skoda’s ‘Simply Clever’ ethos is born out by an umbrella beneath the front passenger seat and a bag hook built into the glovebox handle.
Boot space
Pop open the boot and you'll also find more space than you might have expected and the big opening gives you plenty of space to load larger items. The Citigo's 250-litre boot is very nearly class-leading – only the Hyundai i10's 252-litre boot beats it, and then only in numbers. It’s impressive that switching to electric power hasn’t reduced the space on offer, as it’s common for batteries to reduce interior and boot space.
Fold down the rear seats and space increases to 959 litres, while the £75 option of a variable boot floor means you can set the load area to lie completely flat. The seats fold down in a 60:40 formation and are very easy to operate. A proper steel spare wheel is only available as an option, though.
