Suzuki Jimny
The robustly built Suzuki Jimny 4x4 is the smallest, most affordable off-roader offered for sale in Britain. Amazingly, it's big on off-road ability, and despite its low purchase price it feels relatively well equipped. Only available as a the three-door, the model is not that big on practicality, but an excellent choice for anyone who wants the capability of a 4x4, but not the large bills that often come with it.

The Suzuki Jimny is compact, as tough as old boots and capable off-road thanks to four-wheel drive. Running costs are low and equipment levels are decent, but it's been in production since 1998, and now lags behind more modern rivals for on road comfort and performance.
