The V60 is lovely looking, has a great interior and is comfortable car for longer journeys. This is not the case around town however. I find the ride gratingly harsh over bumps, the turning circle is too wide, the gear lever is set too far back and fuel economy dips considerably from the advertised figures. The clutch went after a few months and I find the headlights very inadequate (halogen) even though I've changed the bulbs and had them focused. I've often found the wipers to be too slow on the fastest speed and the blades do not clean the screen properly in persistent wet conditions. Another major annoyance is that there is no audible warning on leaving the car if you inadvertently leave the daytime running lights on. There is also a persistent problem with the seat belt sensors in the rear which have a life of their own at times. When one rear seat is occupied, you often get warnings for the other seats also and have to fasten all belts to stop it. The dealer can't find a fault.

I chose the V60 to replace my Audi A4 saloon and found it to be a much better built car with levels of refinement that put the Audi in the shade. The new Drive-E 2.0L Bi-Turbo is excellent and very powerful. In response to comments about the spare wheel, Harratts Volvo in Leeds managed to fit my space saver under the boot floor (inside the car) complete with pre-formed housing to store the originally supplied emergency foam and tyre inflator. email cliff@biline.co.uk if you want a photo.

Excellent car. Comfortable, practical, safe, fun to drive and reasonable running cost. Engine is fantastic, very quick and lovely 5 cylinder engine note. I don’t usually get near the claimed mpg, but have managed it on motorways, real world economy isnt bad considering the power and comparable with others. So far very reliable, hasn’t needed anything other than servicing and consumables. Lots of kit as standard, seats have good level of adjustment and are probably the most comfortable on any car I have driven. Premium audio system (optional) is fantastic. Built in booster seats (option) very handy. The only real complaint is the centre console, it lacks a tray for putting things like phones and change in, Also cup holders are not in the best position so cans etc can get in the way of gear changes. Otherwise a great car which I would recommend and buy again myself.

I am utterly disappointed in myself for buying this car. Ever since I had it the computer mileage is haywire, the liter per mile is totally crazy...going from 99 liters /100 km down to 4 ltrs/100 km. Never again, a Volvo V50 for me!

Drivers seat belt replaced 3 times. Still does not retract properly. Flywheel and starter replaced at 60,000 kms. This car is excellent on consumption however Volvo after sales people can be difficult to deal with.

Excellent car. Powerful, responsive, comfortable and quality, all rolled into one neat package. My previous cars were a BMW 3 series 316 and an Audi A4. In my opinion, neither can hold a candle to the Volvo.

Bought as I thought it would be a good engine and it is, but the interior is for sales people on the road, the cabin for the driver isn't thought out well. There is not enough places to put cables, sat nav gear, you have a floating console which takes up space and leaves dead space behind. You have two drink holders and 12-volt adaptor, can't use all three at the same time. It's just the little things to store like sun glasses, bridge passes, etc not enough. Apart from that it is a quiet car, boot space is okay, comes with a puncture kit not a spare, got to learn how to use that, which the sales man doesn't tell you. Had for 6 mths and got an emissions light on. Finding the right configuration for the dash, speed, distance etc a bit poor. Radio is not the greatest, trying to find stations the way to do it a bit poorly thought out. Should have kept my VW Passat

Replaced a 2009 AUDI A4 Avant. Imo this is a far better car. Inside comfort & finish is far better. Not a load slugger estate & more like the old Alfa sportwagon - great. Neutral handling but Tourer rather than bmw like. Good mpg but less than book on mixed roads, light body helps. Clutch flywheel let go under warranty, no other probs whatsoever.(last new Audi needed new engine block and abs assy, 8 week's off road.)

Mine was a company leased vehicle, new in 2016 replacing a 2013 model of the same specification. When new this car offered a worthwhile improvement in performance and economy over the earlier model, however in the last 50,000 miles (currently 106,000) fuel economy has plummeted from a consistent 62mpg average to a hard to obtain 50mpg, my local dealer has changes pressure sensors, Venturi etc on the EGR system but to no benefit, my suspicion surrounds either a faulty or clogged DPF (no manufacturer replacement schedule) or the continual updating of software at 18,000 mile services which may be Volvo’s back door means of maintaining emission compliance? Oil consumption has also become a concern since around 80000 miles with the ‘add 0.5L appearing every 2-3,000 miles. The battery needed replacing at 10,1000 and rear brake pads seem to wear at an alarming rate and the car has had two sets of rear discs since new despite me releasing the park brake the old fashioned way. Despite these gripes the car is an extremely comfortable and relaxing place to be on my average 250 mile daily treks and others I have tried have failed to impress if only in this way. A change in my company's ownership will mean I will have a choice of alternative brands next year and due to Volvo’s ludicrous pricing structure with new models the previous marginal value for money that existed when this car was chosen has now vaporised.
