BMW X2 review - Reliability & safety
BMW doesn’t perform particularly well in our Driver Power survey, but does better than many premium rivals for reliability
While the BMW X2 is too new to have featured in the top 75 cars in our 2023 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, BMW as a brand came in an unremarkable 22nd place out of the top 32 manufacturers. A middling 22% of owners reported an issue with their BMW within the first year of ownership, which is slightly better than Audi (23%), Mercedes (25%) and considerably more reliable than Land Rover (42%). That’s still a way behind Toyota’s premium brand Lexus (14%), however.
How safe is the BMW X2?
The BMW X2 is yet to be crash tested by Euro NCAP, though the closely-related BMW X1 has been, achieving the full five-star rating. We’d expect the BMW X2 to perform similarly, with the model fitted with the brand’s latest safety tech, too.
What are the BMW X2 service intervals?
BMW recommends getting the BMW X2 serviced every year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.
What is the warranty on the BMW X2?
The BMW X2 comes with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty, which is about the industry standard for most new cars. This also includes BMW roadside breakdown assistance. The brand offers an extended warranty scheme to keep your X2 covered into the future with a variety of different plans available.
