Fiat Punto hatchback (2012-2018) - Interior & comfort
The Fiat Punto has soft and comfortable suspension
There are two trim levels to choose from in the Fiat Punto range. Pop+ and Easy+ models have softer suspension than sportier versions offered in the past and prove very comfortable as a result. They’ll glide over even the roughest of roads, but they do tend to wobble around corners a bit.
There's plenty of scope for adjusting the driver's seat and steering wheel, which makes it easy to find a comfortable driving position, while road and wind noise are kept to a minimum thanks to decent cabin insulation.
Fiat Punto dashboard
Behind the wheel, the Punto can be generously described as functional with a hint of luxury – the plastics are better than they used to be and there are some nice soft-touch materials here and there. It pales in comparison with upmarket hatchbacks like the Volkswagen Polo, however.
Equipment
Both trim levels have power steering, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and electric front windows as standard. There are also 15-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door mirrors and air-conditioning. The stereo consists of an MP3-compatible CD player and radio receiver.
Easy+ trim adds front foglights, 16-inch alloy wheels and climate control. There’s a leather steering wheel and gearknob for a touch of luxury. The stereo is boosted with Bluetooth, USB and MP3 player connectivity, although it uses Fiat's exceptionally frustrating Blue&Me system, which lets you control your MP3 player or smartphone through the car’s stereo. This trim level also comes with a TomTom sat nav, which is essentially a portable device that clips to the top of the dashboard. The Punto was never built with a modern touchscreen infotainment system.
