Ford Focus RS hatchback (2016-2018) - Interior & comfort
There are plenty of sporty bits to keep Ford Focus RS owners aware of the car's huge performance
Ford Focus RS dashboard
If you've been inside a standard Focus, nothing in the RS model will surprise you. There are some motorsport-inspired touches around the cabin, the most obvious of which are the Recaro racing seats trimmed partly in leather. The car's chunky three-spoke steering wheel and gearstick are in exactly the right place.
Different drive modes allow the firmness of the ride to be altered, but the suspension feels quite hard regardless of how you tweak it. Even in the softest setting, you can really feel lumps and bumps in the road. While the Focus doesn't crash over imperfections, it rarely feels completely settled.
Equipment
Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, Ford's SYNC2 touchscreen infotainment system, Recaro sports seats, DAB digital radio, bi-xenon headlights and rain-sensing wipers.
Options
Options available to RS buyers include sat nav at £450, Recaro shell front seats for £1,100, 19-inch black forged alloy wheels at £600 and painted brake calipers for £100. An electric sunroof is £600. The Luxury Pack costs £1,000 and includes power-folding door mirrors, rear parking sensors, privacy glass, cruise control and keyless entry.
There are five colours to choose from when buying a Focus RS. Stealth Grey is standard, while Frozen White costs £250 extra. Magnetic Dark Grey and Shadow Black are £550, while the eye-catching Nitrous Blue is £750.
Choosing the special Ford Focus RS Edition model adds a Quaife limited-slip differential along with a black roof, boot spoiler and door mirrors. You also get unique blue trim for the seats and wheel centre caps, along with Recaro shell bucket seats, forged black alloy wheels and blue painted brake callipers.
There are also a number of Ford Performance interior trim upgrades to choose from too.
