MINI Countryman Boardwalk limited edition revealed
Only 325 Boardwalk Editions will be produced, boasting exclusive styling updates and extra kit
- Available on Cooper and Cooper S versions
- On sale from January
- Prices start at £31,600
A MINI Countryman Boardwalk special edition model will go on sale in early 2021, featuring model-specific cosmetic touches and a longer list of standard equipment. You’ll be able to order one of the 325 Countryman Boardwalk Editions in January, with prices starting from £31,600.
The car comes in a special Deep Laguna Blue metallic paint shade, which was introduced on the similarly limited MINI Sidewalk Edition. A black roof is matched by gloss black trim pieces and badges, and it sits on 19-inch alloy wheels. You’ll find Boardwalk logos dotted around the exterior.
Inside, leather seats (heated in the front) are standard, along with auto-dimming power-fold mirrors, cameras all round and automated parking assistance.
The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition is also fitted with the MINI Excitement pack, adding extra kit. Compared to a standard Countryman, you also get LED ambient lighting, cruise control, auto lights and wipers, and a digital instrument cluster. There are MINI-branded puddle lights and the door handles illuminate when you unlock the car.
Under the clamshell bonnet, you have a choice of two petrol engines. Cooper models come with a 135bhp 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, while hot Cooper S versions get a 2.0-litre petrol with 189bhp. The latter is good for 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and a 140mph top speed, where permitted. The standard six-speed manual can be replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox at extra cost.
Cooper versions start at £31,600 while speccing the Cooper S adds nearly £4,000 to the price. With the extra kit on offer and the exclusivity of this special edition, we expect the Boardwalk Edition to comfortably sell out when it goes on sale.
