After trading in a Honda Civic ES 2010 against the Coupe I was a little dubious about the reportedly harsh ride and practicality. However the suspension is far better and actually far more forgiving than the Honda. The fairly good size boot has been more than large enough for a weekend camping trip for two (including a good size tent, sleeping bags, beds, table, chairs and cooking gear etc). The Coupe with the SD engine is awesome especially for mid range overtaking. Around town I'm getting 58 mpg, 62 mpg for a trip to the coast and on a long motorway haul it managed to get 64 mpg . The handling is fabulous and the car really grips into the corners. Build quality is fabulous and the sports seats are perfect; firm, comfortable and supportive. I'm 6'1" and there is plenty of headroom to spare. I'm quite choosey about my cars, I've had new VW Golf GTIs, BMW Coupes and Merc SLK.......the Mini has the same feel as the best. Everytime I get out of this car it puts a smile on the face...awsome accelleration/overtaking, frugal mpg (60 average), build quality, unmatched handling and only £35/per year road tax.
