MINI reveals 60 Years Edition of MINI Cooper S
Anniversary model of MINI Hatch comes exclusively in British Racing Green and is limited to 500 examples in UK
MINI has revealed the MINI Cooper S '60 Years Edition', a limited-run version of the three-door hatchback celebrating the 60th anniversary of the very first MINI’s launch back in 1959. Only 500 will be available to UK buyers, each with a price tag of £29,990.
The car will come exclusively in British Racing Green with a contrasting piano black finish for the roof and wing mirrors. Special bonnet stripes and 17-inch alloy wheels have been designed specifically for the car. The special edition also features 60 Years emblems for the side scuttles and LED projection in the driver’s door, plus an extra set of spot lamps for the front grille.

Inside, the exclusive Dark Cacao leather seats feature contrast stitching and piping, designed to match the British Racing Green paintwork. The seats also have the 60 Years badging detail stamped into the leather.
Buyers get all the standard equipment usually found on the MINI Hatch but extras for the 60 Years Edition include the Navigation Plus and the Comfort Plus packs. The former brings an 8.8-inch touchscreen display with sat nav, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and wireless charging, while the latter incorporates a rear view camera, front and rear Park Distance Control and folding wing mirrors.
The special edition uses the same 189bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine as the standard Cooper S, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 147mph. The car will only be available with an automatic gearbox in the UK, so economy figures stand at 39.8-43.5mpg, with CO2 emissions of 127-129g/km.
Priced at £29,990, the 60 Years Edition will be available to order from March 2019, with only 500 available to buy in the UK.
