Peugeot 3008 MPV (2009-2016) - Interior & comfort
Peugeot 3008s fitted with 18-inch wheels have a firm ride, but otherwise the car is very comfortable
Although the Peugeot 3008 performs better in corners than you might expect, comfort was always going to take priority in a car like this and it does a good job of suppressing road and wind noise. Quite how comfortable your 3008 is depends on two things: wheel size and whether you choose the hybrid or one of the conventional models.
Our pick of the range, the Allure model, comes with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, and these transmit more bumps inside than the 17-inch alloys fitted to Active and Access versions. Ride quality is even worse in the hybrid model, which not only gets the bigger wheels, but also has stiffer suspension to cope with the added weight of its batteries.

Interior quality in the 3008 is in line with what you’d expect from rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai, with plenty of soft-touch plastics and chrome highlights, while classy toggle switches operate the main controls. The high transmission tunnel makes the 3008 feel quite sporty and there’s also a grab handle next to the gearstick – similar to the ones you’ll find in a Porsche Cayenne.
Equipment
Peugeot offers the 3008 in just two trim levels. Basic Active specification comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear electric windows, an electric parking brake and air-con. It also has the Look Pack, which adds colour-coded exterior trim. Automatic headlights and wipers join the kit list, too, as do electric folding mirrors, cruise control, rear parking sensors and Dynamic Roll Control, which sharpens up the car’s handling.
Allure models are the first to get the larger 18-inch wheels (and the consequently firmer ride), but equipment highlights include a panoramic sunroof and sat nav.
Options
You don’t have to choose the top-of-the range trim level to get the best kit. Buy an Active model and you can cherry-pick extra equipment from the options list, including a panoramic sunroof (£370) and sat-nav (£850).
