Renault Koleos SUV - Reliability & safety (2017-2020)
Impressive safety kit gives Renault Koleos owners peace of mind
An impressive list of safety equipment is designed to keep occupants protected in the event of a crash, or prevent one happening at all.
Renault Koleos reliability
While it’s impossible to surmise the Koleos’ reliability until it has spent longer in the hands of customers, the X-Trail it’s based on came a respectable 60th in our 2018 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, in a list of the top 75 models. However, out of all the new X-Trail owners who took part, 14.3% reported a fault within the first year, with the engine the most common culprit. Hopefully Renault’s reworking of the car will have sorted these issues.
Safety
An impressive list of safety equipment is designed to keep occupants protected in the event of a crash, or prevent one happening at all. Autonomous emergency braking is fitted as standard, along with lane-departure warning, traffic-sign recognition, automatic dipping headlights and blind-spot warnings.
The Koleos achieved a five-star Euro NCAP crash-test result, with an impressive 90% score in the adult occupant protection category. It scored well across the board, managing 79% in the child occupant test and 75% for its safety technology.
