I have owned the 3 door Mii in SE trim for about 18 months and it has so far proved a reliable, characterful, easy to drive car, but not without its faults. First off, the engine in my car is the 60PS version and while nippy enough in urban traffic and highly economical, it quickly runs out of steam on larger inclines and hills, requiring regular use of the gearbox. My commute is mostly dual carriageway work and it achieves a regular 400 miles between fill ups. The only technical issues I have had with the car relate to the clutch and gearbox: reverse gear regularly refuses to engage first or even second time without double de-clutching, and first gear can be problematic too. The gearbox is slick enough on the move but doesn't seem solid or dependable. Equally, the clutch whines at high speed and that adds to the drone in the cabin from the wind noise due to the lightly-insulated shell. Water and road noise are particularly apparent in this car as well. However, the car has been pleasant to drive and is well finished inside, with the dash and upholstery in the SE model being made to a high quality. The portable Bluetooth/navigation system supplied with my car is good and works well as a trip computer on long journeys, giving real time MPG read outs. The handling is light and it's a doddle to park, and visibility is good all round. My only other niggles are with the rear parcel shelf which isn't attached to the boot lid and can stay up, leaving it to obscure the rear window. Also, being the 3 door version, if passengers clamber into the back, the seats do not return to their original position and force you to readjust your driving position. Otherwise it's a fantastic little car that belies its small car look. Cheaper than the equivalent VW too.

I was tossing up between a Hyundai i10, and the VW Up!/Skoda Citigo/SEAT Mii, so popped into the local SEAT dealer just to take a peek at the Mii to see how it fared. I was impressed by other reviews, and indeed in the flesh looked good, but the salesman made me such a stupid offer I ordered one on the spot. I'll add at this point I had just taken early retirement from 40 years in the Motor trade, so knew exactly what my Mercedes CLA shooting brake was worth, and was aware of the offers on all the above, but the deal appeared to be so heavily stacked in my favour I thought I would take it before they realised what they had actually done! So. One Mii 1.0SE Five door in Blueberry should arrive in three weeks. Five weeks passed, then six, and they finally told me my Mii 3dr had arrived. After asking when the extra doors would be added, they apologised and said they would make amends, and to my astonishment came up with a Mii by Mango 75hp, with Pano roof, Spare tyre and parking sensors for £300 more, saving another £1500. Now while 'Nude' wasn't my first colour choice, it was at least unusual, so after two more weeks it arrived. Six months later: The Mii has excelled in every way. It's very spacious for four normal adults, has a deep boot which swallows a surprising amount of stacked luggage (The VW Up! false boot floor would be a worthy aftermarket option) and enjoys a wide cabin so no rubbing elbows here! The fit and finish is excellent, tight shut-lines, good quality fittings despite the exposed painted interior bits (Doors) and comfortable seats even without adjustable lumbar support. Inside the Mii by Mango is a pleasant place, with high backed seats in fake leather and suede which match the leather wheel (perforated leather) and gear knob (leather) while the dash and trimmings are finished in Atom grey, so they match the exterior wheels and door matter caps. Although my one had options (Pan roof, Reversing sensors, Driving lights and Spare wheel along with Cruise control) the standard kit is just right, with electric Windows, mirrors (heated too) Aircon, Remote central locking and the Garmin Nav pack (Inc Bluetooth music, phone, trip computers and eco display) all which work impeccably. Even the floor mats match in style with Mii by Mango labels and beige piping, leaving the interior appearance of a far more expensive marque. Driving the Mii is quite a revelation! The little triple develops 75bhp, and despite a little vibration at idle and very very slight judder upon pulling off is extremely smooth, quiet and revs well, while the very high gearing means the in-gear speeds are around 30, 60, 90 and top speed (Apparently 106mph, but more on GPS with a tailwind!) avails itself in either of the top two gears. It's not horribly quick, but if you extend the little engine, never disgraces itself in the traffic lights GP, and offers extreme refinement at up to 80mph, and additionally good torque, so 5th gear works from around 30mph in town, so choosing one gear higher than you would expect seems to work well and provides an easy average of 50mpg in normal use, even having some fun in the process! Handling is not just safe, but really rather good within sane limits, after which it understeers, but lifting off the throttle soon tightens the turn in again. Just what you would expect these days. The 15" wheels are probably best in a Mii/Citigo/Up! offering a good ride and decent grip without any disappointments either way. Tyre wear at 3800 miles is negligible, with no scrubbed edges, and I corner it hard at every opportunity such is the fun of taking bends smoothly and quickly. And that is what the Mii excels at. Drive it smoothly, briskly and properly and it remains in shape, rewarding you with refinement and finesse. Downsides!? Well after owning Mercedes for the last ten years, the paint chips fairly easily (Not much worse than the Benz in fairness) I sometimes miss the interior lighting pack (footwells, door mirror/interior mirror floodlighting etc) and the 10,000 mile service interval with 30,000 mile Cambelt change is hardly generous, but not a deal breaker at all for me, nor are the advertised prices at all onerous. Overall: A thoughtfully designed car with lovely trim level and excellent refinement and economy. I have absolutely no issues with the whole package and it's pleasure to drive in town with it's sticky little gearbox, light clutch and steering, and equally on the motorway with surprising performance within the 60-80mph bracket along with superb refinement, even compared to my previous car at three times the price. I suspect the dealer will need to be watched, so no 'Mercedes levels' of customer service here despite the killer deal, but I might get lucky...

I bought the car as a used demonstrator with 8,000 miles on clock for the bargain price of £6,000. I have used it daily for commuting for the last three years and clocked up over 46,000 miles. Being the S model, it lacked a few refinements that in today's world are considered essential; central locking and electric windows. I put up with this as the car was so cheap to buy and run, returning on average over my three years of ownership 60 mpg. If driven sensibly this figure is easy to achieve. I liked the car so much I have just bought another one, the better I-Tech model. Reliability has been excellent as was service received from Seat dealers. A great little car with low running costs and easy to drive.

A very good city car with good motorway capability. The down sides I have found is bad wind noise from the windscreen (normally on most cars you get it from the wing mirrors) and a very strange electrically operated auto box. It has extremely low gear ratios attaining 5th at 30mph. So it goes up and down the gears like a yo-yo. The most disconcerting thing is when you slow down at a junction it has an infuriating habit of not recognising the correct gear for your speed which causes a "dead spot" where there is no pick up. DANGEROUS!!! It's annoying because otherwise it's a fine car. Contacting Seat about this.

Great car, bought the toca which provides lots of extras including metallic paint. Its driven regularly across the pot holed Cotswolds which the car handles with aplomb. Price x spec = value. My other car is a BMW 5 series.

The Seat Mii is an impressive little car for the money. The build quality is a good standard for the spec of vehicle and outclasses it rivals in almost every area. The Positives Although quite a small car, the VW Group have used their magic in creating a very spacious vehicles for its size. excelling in both head and leg room. The Mii is very comfortable on most roads due to its soft spring set up which allows the car to flow softly over the surfaces. The electronic steering is very impressive, and gives the driver a good feedback through the steering wheel without being too heavy. The engine is very capable in the city environment with plenty of poke to keep up with most traffic (although it can be a bit asthmatic on motorway journeys). The boot is huge for its size at 251 litres. More impressively, when you fold the seats flat the boot space expands to 951 litres giving plenty of space for your weekly shop. The design of the cabin is well thought out and Oozes quality. Although they have used hard plastics, Seat have been clever with the design to keep it looking fresh by using a white dash to make the cabin less dull to look at. I've read a lot of reviews complaining about the exposed metal work particularity on the door panels. but to be honest I have no problems with this. In fact, I think they look great, it just helps give the cabin a fresher design compared to its rivals. The look of the overall car is questionable, The vehicle I purchased came in white(I must point out that this is not a no cost option anymore)and it looks adorable. However, the other colors particularly silver makes the car very boring to look at. So choose your colour wisely. The Negatives The car I purchased was the S spec vehicle with added Air Con. But be warned, this is a very low spec vehicle. It will not come with electric windows or central locking. I didn't mind this as it wasn't a huge inconvenience to myself. But the most annoy thing about it was the lack of clock on the dash which means you need to wear a watch to keep track of the time. Another inconvenience is the back parcel shelf, it does not come with a rope attached to the tailgate, so you have to lift it up to get access to the boot if you have bigger items. The problem is, it stays in place, so sometimes when I've been in a hurry I don't realise I've left it up until I get in the driver seat. So, frustratingly I've have to get out of the car open the boot and put the shelf down.I don't understand why they didn't put one in in the first place it wouldn't of cost that much would it! I think this is where the car's downsizes are and its to do with its cost cutting. example the Driver seat belt doesn't adjust, so it can take a while to get in a comfortable position without the belt cutting into your neck. There is no rear inner arches so the sound proofing is awful when is rains as the water sprays into the exposed arches, it almost sounds like you have a window open in the back its that loud! Overall it is a pleasant car to own and drive, but a few tweaks that I have pointed out would make it unbeatable.

The Garmin Infotainment system is woeful. It also has a clunky gear change but I am assured there is nothing mechanically wrong. Its economical and manages longer journeys fairly well. The daytime running lights seem prone to burning out.

This is a brilliant little car. It is compact, so easy to manoeuvre and park, turning on a very small circle. It has a surprising amount of boot space for its size. Fuel efficiency is good. There is plenty of space in the back despite being a three door, so children travel in comfort. I like its modern interior and the cup holders for that essential latte! However, I have a big problem with this car and that's the auto gear box. It doesn't always engage, especially in reverse which can take several attempts. It goes up and down the gears far too much. It sometimes takes so long to sort out the gear that at junctions you can be left stranded for quite a while before it engages, which is plain dangerous. I have resorted to using the trip tonic type option to select the gear myself, especially when going up hills or pulling out of junctions - this does help, but I didn't want to drive a geared car. Overall, I would have given this car a five-star rating in all other areas as I love it, but the gear box is so annoying that I honestly don't think I would have bought it had I known.

I'm delighted with this little red car. It's an FR model with 75bhp engine, a panoramic roof and SEAT's optional sound system. It replaced a 2002 Honda Civic. I've had no troubles to report, the sound system is formidable and the roof a joy. It's used as a daily potterer, with occasional motorway work and 300 mile journeys, so a decent mix of motoring. The other household car is an old 2003 Boxster S and initial concerns over whether the 75bhp would be enough grunt soon evaporated: it's a great drive, nippy enough with chassis, brakes etc to match. A recent return down the M4 in appalling conditions was completed comfortably, economically and speedily. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nippy, economical little car with refinement and decent looks. I am very glad that I stuck with my decision to buy this car though the local dealership rates "nil point" in my opinion. Happily found another 50 miles away, who were fine.

A brilliant little car that can handle itself on faster road. It's mainly used for commuting to work and traveling up the M1 and it has never struggled. The Seat works out much cheaper than the equivalent Skoda and VW so was a no brainier. With a bit of negotiation you can run it for around £95 a month on a (10,000 mile) PCP with an £800 deposit.

I bought the SE model with 1800 miles on the clock. This gave me remote central locking, electric windows and air conditioning. As part of the deal I negotiated a sat nav. I've tried other three cylinders cars and hated them. This one however is superb and great fun to drive. Don't bother with the Up or Citigo and save yourself some money with the Mii.

I spent a fair amount of time choosing between the VW, Skoda and Seat versions of this car. VW went out early as they offer the lowest specs for the most money and offer little room to negotiate also I think the Up looks the worst of the three. Skoda were much better financially but had a long lead time for delivery so went out and Seat got my money having the right spec/right price/available now. I drive about 400 miles a week in my Mii and wanted a comfortable car for the motorway that would be very cheap to run. It's proved to be an excellent buy. It cruises at motorway speeds quietly and has the 75bhp engine so is capable of a decent turn of speed if required, no need to change down on inclines etc. The Mii is satisfying to drive and surprisingly nippy even compared to my other much more capable cars. Inside there's more than enough room for 4 people with a few bags of shopping in the boot. I love combined SatNav/Bluetooth device. I'm getting around 400 miles from a tank, I don't drive with economy in mind so I expect I could get better MPG if I tried. If I had to find faults I'd like to be able to adjust the wheel without obscuring the speedo, in my preferred position it's OK, not so for my wife. Also it's a little annoying that the seats don't return to their position when you need to access the back (mine's 3 door). I'm giving it a five because it's a great little car that has no right being as good as it is for the money and because Seat seem to have hit the equipment/cost ratio best of the three brands.

The car is really good and very well equipped compared to its competitors. It's stylish and has enough boot space to carry your weekly shopping. Anything more than that - fold down the rear seats, and it carries surprisingly large items. The manual gearbox is excellent, and it's easy to find the perfect balance between speed and torque in most situations. Downside is that the reverse is sometimes a bit difficult to engage, which is something I've never experienced in other cars. The cabin is bright grey and feels modern, but could include an armrest and some more storage. Fuel economy is good, but the official figures for city driving is based on pure fantasies. It's still good, but not THAT good. The car really shows it's economy on highroad, at 70-80km/h, and non-existent start/stop situations always occuring in the city. In such circumstances, I've managed 70mpg with no problems. Also, fuel economy on highways is surprisingly good, about the same as in town, about 45-50mpg. I am happy to own the SEAT Mii, but considering a small Skoda Fabia isn't that much more expensive, I'd think carefully before getting one. However, the SEAT Mii is more stylish than that car, and a lot more practical than e.g. the Mini or the Fiat 500. It's also good value for money with its high equipment levels.

It is a lovely car, in My oppinion it is MUCH better looking Than both the Skoda Citigo and the VW Up. It is good if you don't need more than two seats in the back, it's very spacious in the back. It is a extremely fun car to drive because of the tight turning circle, the VERY Nice sounding engine, and the precise steering. Though the engine could use a bit more power, it is lacking a bit at higher speeds. Watch out for the 60hp version, which lacks in power all the time.

I've owned my beautiful little Mii for little over 4 months and I really love it. It's fantastic on fuel, great boot space, nippy, picks up speed quick. I'm a mum of two who are 3 and 5 so I need the space for their car seats and enough room to be comfortable and store their stuff. I can get a full shop in there as well which is great. There are only a few niggles... it makes a terrible noise from the wind when going fast, the sat nav is rubbish and when it rains and you drive off the water comes pouring in your window when open. I've seen a few complaints regarding the reflective dash which is annoying however not that bad. I'd definately recommend this car especially in white :)
