New Citroen C3 Aircross Rip Curl announced

Wave hello to the new surf-themed version of Citroen’s small SUV, with exclusive blue styling touches

  • ‘Anodised Blue’ styling flourishes
  • Positioned above Shine Plus trim
  • Available to order now from £23,815

Just in time for Summer, Citroen has teamed up with Australian surf brand Rip Curl to create the aptly-named C3 Aircross Rip Curl. This new special edition version of the French manufacturer’s small SUV boasts a distinctive blue colour scheme as well as a high level of standard equipment.

The Citroen C3 Aircross Rip Curl is on sale now from £23,815 and sits at the top of the model lineup. The C3 Aircross is a small SUV that focuses on comfort, rivalling the likes of the Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008.

Distinguishing the Rip Curl from other C3 Aircross models are its exclusive Anodised Blue exterior accents. These can be found on the front bumper and the wing mirrors, and are complemented by a set of Rip Curl decals along the side. Apart from the standard white, buyers can choose from a list of three optional paint colours: Perla Nera Black, Platinum Grey and Cumulus Grey.

The C3 Aircross Rip Curl sits on a set of 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels; these are wrapped in all-season tyres, further pushing the car’s lifestyle-oriented stance.

On the inside, the blue theme continues as the C3 Aircross Rip Curl gets blue faux-leather upholstery, with exclusive Rip Curl detailing. There is also an exclusive set of Rip Curl-branded floor mats and navy trim on the dashboard.

Citroen has based the C3 Aircross Rip Curl on the previously-range-topping Shine Plus trim, building on that car’s list of standard kit. All Rip Curl cars get a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded sound system, a heads-up display and Citroen’s Advanced Comfort seats.

There are three engine choices to choose from: two petrols and a diesel. Both petrol options use a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with either 108bhp or 128bhp. The less-powerful unit is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the other utilises a six-speed automatic transmission. These are priced from £23,815 and £25,395 respectively.

The diesel engine is aimed at those intending to travel long distances frequently. Priced from £24,985, this powertrain comprises a 1.5-litre engine with 108bhp and a six-speed manual transmission. Here, buyers can expect fuel economy figures of up to 60.1mpg.
