Hot car deal: retro-modern Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV for £253 a month

Our hot car deal for January 30th is the impressive, all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 for just £253 a month

Hyundai Ioniq 5 front cornering

If you’re after a car that offers a real ‘wow’ factor, then you’ll find the retro-futuristic style of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 certainly fits the bill. Its sharp lines and creases work brilliantly to help the all-electric, five-door hatchback stand out on the road, and you’ll be impressed at its huge interior space that provides limo-like legroom along with enough luggage capacity for all the family.

An overall range of more than 300 miles should be practical enough for most needs, while the Ioniq 5 comes with fast charging ability, so you’ll be able to quickly recharge the battery on longer trips or when you're in a hurry. We think it’s a car that excels on so many fronts – perfectly at home either as a motorway cruiser or an urban EV.

What’s so good about this Hyundai Ioniq 5 deal?

This deal from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £3,037.44, then monthly payments of £253.12 over two years. If you wish, you can extend the agreed mileage allowance, or increase the duration of the lease agreement, but you will incur additional charges. For example, raising the mileage to 8,000 miles per annum means you’ll pay an extra £18.72 each month, plus slightly more on the deposit amount.

The Ioniq 5 offered in this deal is in Premium trim which includes 19-inch alloys, a battery heating and pre-conditioning function, smart cruise control, a rear parking monitor, an electrically-operated tailgate, a heating function for the front seats and steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charging pad and two 12.3-inch screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the driver’s instrument display.

The 77kWh battery and single electric motor produce a healthy 225bhp, with 0-62mph covered in 7.3 seconds. Hyundai claims the maximum combined range is 315 miles, although you’ll probably struggle to reach that particularly in colder, wintry conditions.

What’s so good about the Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Hyundai Ioniq 5 interior

We like the sharp-looking Hyundai so much that we named it our Best Company Car back in 2022, while our sister title, Auto Express, handed the Ioniq 5 their Car of the Year award in 2021. But, don’t think that time has dulled its appeal, as it remains a very impressive option in its class. Our pick of the Ioniq 5 range is actually the model on offer in this deal, as you benefit from an ideal blend of performance, generous standard equipment and that practical range and fast-charging capability.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
