Hot car deal: smart-looking Nissan Leaf EV for just £198 per month

Our hot car deal for January 17 is the all-electric Nissan Leaf hatchback for an appealing £157 per month

Nissan Leaf - front dynamic

The Nissan Leaf is a great way to dive into EV ownership; reliable, easy-to-drive and crammed with useful onboard tech, it offers an uncomplicated and effortless driving experience. Launched back in 2010, this second-generation car improved on the original model’s practicality and – perhaps most importantly for a lot of buyers – its overall range. Although now having to contend with a host of new, ultra-modern rivals, the Leaf continues to hold appeal. Although its subtle exterior styling and restrained cabin design may not be to everyone’s taste, Nissan’s evergreen EV is still a capable choice.

What’s so good about this Nissan Leaf deal?

This deal from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £2,374.44, then 36 monthly payments of £197.87. Extending the agreed mileage limit to 10,000 miles per year means you’ll pay £212.11 every month, while the deposit amount increases to £2,545.32. Whichever deal you opt for, you’ll need to cover the £270 processing fee, too.

This Nissan Leaf model is offered in well-specified N Connecta trim and features 17-inch alloy wheels, Nissan’s e-Pedal (one pedal driving) system, automatic climate control, a heating function for the front and rear seats and the steering wheel, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and voice-controlled sat-nav.

The front-wheel-drive Leaf has a 39kWh battery, producing 148bhp and 320Nm of torque, which helps the all-electric hatchback from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds. Nissan claims this particular Leaf should be able to cover 168 miles on a mixture of roads, or up to 242 miles purely driving in and around town.

What’s so good about the Nissan Leaf?

Nissan Leaf - rear

The Nissan Leaf is impressive across the board; it’s comfortable and easy to drive, especially around town, while its e-Pedal function helps to take the stress out of navigating in stop/start traffic. Excellent safety kit and useful onboard tech, plus enough space for all the family mean it’s still one to consider.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
