New MG3 Hybrid+ on a bargain monthly plan: Hot car deal

The MG3 Hybrid+ has just arrived as one of the cheapest hybrid superminis you can buy, and this PCP deal makes it even more affordable

MG3

The first-generation MG3 was hardly cutting-edge even when it first launched, but its all-new replacement is a seriously impressive hybrid supermini. One of its best features is its already-low price, but the brand hasn’t stopped there – you can already get one on a PCP deal that makes it even more affordable to get behind the wheel and start benefiting from its low running costs and fun driving experience.

What’s so good about this MG3 Hybrid+ deal?

This deal is direct from MG with a deposit contribution of £250, and it lets you cover up to 8,000 miles a year with an initial customer deposit of £2,658, then 49 monthly payments of £229. That is admittedly a long term, but will suit buyers who are looking to keep the car for a good amount of time, and there’s also the option to buy it at the end with a balloon payment. MG’s warranty is competitive, with its cars covered for up to seven years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The model in question is in SE trim, which we think offers enough equipment for most buyers, but you can also opt for the higher-spec Trophy with heated seats and other niceties for just £20 more per month and an initial deposit of an extra £181.14 (MG also offers a slightly larger finance contribution of £750 on this version).

What’s so good about the MG3 Hybrid+?

The MG3 Hybrid+ is so new that we’ve only just reviewed it, but it’s already made a big impact. It’s incredibly cheap for a hybrid, and those savings will continue once you’re reaping the benefits of the MG3’s frugal fuel economy, but that’s not the only thing that impressed us.

MG3 rear 3/4 tracking

The MG3 uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a punchy electric motor and boasts a power figure of 192bhp, putting it close to hot-hatch territory, despite the focus here being on efficiency. MG’s Longbridge-based team has also worked on the suspension setup and they’ve done a great job tuning it to be fun to drive with a good balance of comfort. Because of the hybrid system, all MG3s are now automatic, and that means it’s easy to drive around town, too.

All MG3s are well equipped, so you’ll benefit from a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with sat nav, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors and more. While the interior isn’t the last word in quality, it’s much better than that of its predecessor, and who can argue at this price point?
