Mercedes is out to prove that wheels are so last year by showing off this great sculpture which previews the next CLS which is due to debut in concept form later this year.

We're really into this sculpture by Mercedes which gives us the first hints of the design thinking that's going into the next CLS. At the front, the giant Merc symbol has been adopted from the SLS AMG supercar amd Blue Zero concept, while the creased rear arch is present and correct from the latest E-Class. The stubby back end is cool too.

Conservative cool

The overall effect seems to give the car a less controversial, classical coupe silhouette. So we reckon it while it won't wow us like the original CLS did, the new CLS will appeal to even more people, more of the time.
