Power

It’s powered by the Gran Turismo’s  4.7-litre V8 engine, delivering 440hp. It’ll put it’s power down via the rear wheels with help from a six-speed ZF gearbox. The results? 0-62mph in 5.4seconds and a top speed of 175mph. While the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is the quickest drop top in the world, the Maserati isn’t exactly a slouch.

Comfort

Maserati claim that due to its 2,492mm wheelbase (the longest on the market) the Gran Cabrio is a true four-seat convertible. They put it like this: ‘the rear passengers are not merely supporting actors, but co-stars of the journey.’ Very swish…

Style

Choosing your colour may prove difficult – there are 14 different exterior shades and six different colours for the soft top. Inside, the dashboard comes in ‘Dark Chrome’ trim as standard, but Maserati also offers various precious woods.

If you love the car so much that you’ll be using it for long distance travelling (rather than short range wafting) Maserati offers a bespoke luggage set for the Gran Cabrio.

The new Gran Cabrio is available for order now, and the first cars will be delivered in April next year.
