Citroen has revealed a facelifted version of the Ford Fiesta-rivalling C3, featuring updated styling, new options and some more fuel-efficient engines.

The Citroen C3 gets a revised nose, featuring a new variant of the Citroen double chevron logo that stretches across the width of the grille. There are a pair of LED daytime running lights either side of the bumper and a new body-coloured splitter in the front air intake.

The changes extend to the rear and the interior, with a slightly updated set of tail-lights and a new strip across the dashboard available in a variety of colours. Buyers can now specify a reversing camera, too.

A new family of engines joins the C3 range, including fuel-efficient 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre PureTech petrols. The 1.0-litre engine produces 7bhp more than the four-cylinder 1.1 VTi it replaces but is also capable of 65.7mpg – that’s 17.8mpg better than the old 1.1. Meanwhile, the 1.2 PureTech produces 81bhp and manages 62.8mpg.

Other engines include the C3 Airdream, which emits only 87g/km of CO2, making it by far the most efficient offering.

The facelifted Citroen C3 will go on sale shortly after it’s unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with prices starting from around £11,000.
