Peugeot 5008
The 5008 is significantly more practical than Peugeot's previous large people carriers. It's comparatively compact proportions mean it's easier to drive around town than full sized rivals such as the Dodge Journey or Chrysler Voyager, but there's still a lot of space inside. It's good to drive, too, and the economical HDi diesel engines are very cheap to run and have sufficient performance. The seating is also very clever, so the Peugeot 5008 is an appealing alternative to the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso or Vauxhall Zafira.
- pros:
- Enjoyable to drive
- Excellent diesel engines
- Practical, well -built interior
- cons:
- Entry-level equipment levels aren't that generous
- Peugeot's poor reliability track record
- Rear seats best suited to children and small teenagers
The 5008 is one of the most practical people carriers around. There's no end of space in the cabin, while the interior and loading area are full of useful features. Cabin quality is much improved over Peugeots of old, with clear instruments and great fit and finish, while the 5008 is also very comfortable. On the road, the big Peugeot belies its size and feels surprisingly nimble for a tall, spacious family car.
