E.c.u. Unit failed 1 month out of warranty, v.w. Wanted £1500 to replace, and would maybe contribute half , leaving me with £750.HAS Happened to many v.w. Models.this is the last v.w. We will buy unless they extend their warranty period??? More money for kia or vauxhall .PITY .

My vw golf plus is truly an excellent car and probably the best i have ever owned

Hi! Yes this car is 65.000miles odo but front disc breaks are waves. back disck are roostie. On Coil spring in back is broken and right bottom cover is broken. Last technical check was inmay 2013. After that this car need new back springs, right bottom cover, brake discs and breaks that mind parts go £280 and maintaince £140. Car price was £ 5,750.

Outwardly not a very glamorous or exciting car and it was with some trepidation that i downsized from a 4 x 4 but this car is extremely good and provides everything my wife and i need. A bonus being that it will fit into my garage which has proved invaluable during icy weather.

My car has apparently a common fault in that the balanced flywheel disintegrates.According To the vw garage this happens to around five cars per week and i have found this to be true.Another Fault which i found to be common wasthat the epg warning lamp came on and this costs about £1300 pounds to fix.Again After investigation i found this to be a common fault which vw know about.This Would make me very reluctant to buy a similar vw as two such expensive faults make me most annoyed!

Didn't expect any problems with radio/cd so quite disappointed with this from a trusted brand. Otherwise great for economy and power.

So reliable , very economical for an automatic , just wish that there was a greater choice of auto diesel about . No problems always a pleasure to drive

Very comfortable to drive long distance,good seating,excellent fuel consumptionand definitely like the dsg gearbox

An excellent all rounder, i have been told it will do 120 miles an hour (obviously i do not know this from personal experience) it averages 47 mpg and is big enough to fit the mother-in-law in. The only problem has been the turbo going.

Purchased at 6 months old with only 2000 miles. Now 7 years and 70,000 miles further on still a great everyday family car. Long life servicing has been a bonus, as has the average 50 mpg fuel consumption. Only ever had minor repairs (suspension drop links and one broken wire on the central locking) plus brake pads and tyres so can't complain. Now getting some rust on the tailgate but it is outside in all weathers. Would buy another if I could get my wife to part with this one.

It's ok, but the particular model i have (bluemotion) was sold as being particularly fuel efficient, and it falls far short of providing the fuel economy that i was expecting.
