Skoda has been a star for customer satisfaction survey in recent times. The standard Skoda Octavia was rated highly for reliability in our 2019 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey of cars currently on sale in the UK. Safety
The Octavia also has a strong safety record, having achieved a five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating. The car has seven airbags, electronic stability control and post-collision braking as standard. vRS buyers also get auto-dipping headlights and lane-keeping assistance. Rear side airbags can be added for £280, but unlike on the Ford Focus ST, there’s no city safety braking or blind-spot monitoring available.
The facelifted 2017 Octavia added new safety features, including autonomous emergency braking (with pedestrian detection) and blind-spot monitoring, which also makes reversing out of parking spaces safer.
