Today’s hot car deal: the premium-quality Volkswagen Polo for just £183 per month

Our hot deal for December 8 is the plush and practical VW Polo – a classy option certainly worth considering for £183 per month

Volkswagen Polo - rear 3/4 dynamic

If you’re currently in the market for a stylish supermini that offers a truly premium feel, then the Volkswagen Polo has to be on your list. Available for less than £200 per month, this might just be the most affordable way to put one on your drive.

What’s so good about this VW Polo deal?

We found this deal at nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk and were immediately taken by the temptingly-low £183 per month figure. By signing up to a 36-month deal, with a £2,200 deposit and an annual mileage limit of 5,000 miles per year, you can drive away in one of our favourite premium-feeling superminis.

If you need an increase in that mileage allowance, you can upgrade the deal to cover 10,000 miles per year, which means a £270 increase to the initial payment and an additional £23 to the ongoing monthly fees.

What’s so good about the Volkswagen Polo?

Now more spacious than ever, the five-door hatchback brings a similar level of composure on the road to its bigger Golf sibling, along with good levels of onboard technology.

Despite the Polo in this deal coming in entry-level ‘Life’ trim, it still provides a generous level of equipment, including 15-inch alloys, LED headlights, power folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors, cruise control, air-conditioning and an 8-inch digital driver’s display. Safety kit is a real highlight, too, with automatic emergency braking, lane assist and a driver fatigue alert system all featuring as standard.

Volkswagen Polo - front passing dynamic

This particular Polo model is powered by VW’s ubiquitous 94bhp 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with a five-speed manual gearbox. It’ll cover 0-62mph in a 10.8 seconds which actually isn’t that much slower than the 10.4 seconds needed by the more powerful 109bhp version further up the range. It might not be a hot hatch, but you’ll appreciate its average fuel economy of 54mpg, while you might even see 60mpg on a gentle motorway cruise.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the three-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
