Land Rover Discovery 4

The Land Rover Discovery 4 aims to offer something special to every driver: it's a comfortable luxury car, a convenient family hatchback and a serious off-road machine all at once. And very good at all those things it is, too. It's big and expensive, but its quality, luxury and comfort easily match the price. The latest model is so good and so comfortable it could just as easily be badged as a Range Rover

Land Rover is branching out into two-wheel-drive cars with entry-level versions of the Land Rover Freelander and Range Rover Evoque, but the brand remains committed to offering the ultimate in off-road performance with cars like the Discovery. This model also has a luxurious cabin that's a great place to sit for long periods of time. As a result, the Discovery makes a brilliant motorway car. Expect running costs to be on the high side, though, despite the excellent 3.0-litre diesel engine.
