This is the Fiat 500L
It's a combination of Hatchback and MPV...
...combined with the style of the iconic Fiat 500 citycar
There are Urban and Cross versions available, the former is pictured here...
...and this is the Cross, with its beefy off-road look.
The 500L Cross has sturdy-looking skid plates under the bumpers,
Extra ground clearance assists its agility on rough roads.
A clever Traction+ system also helps the Cross to traverse loose surfaces
Relatively compact dimensions mean the 500L never feels too bulky in either the Jungle or the Urban Jungle
1.4-litre petrol and 1.3 and 1.6-litre diesel engines provide motivation
A dualogic automatic gearbox is available for the 1.3-litre diesel
Equipment levels are high, and more can be added optionally
There's a longer Wagon available, too, which we've reviewed separately
Entry level for the Urban model is Pop...
...but you can upgrade to Lounge trim which adds a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen system
Lounge also brings DAB radio, two USB connectors and rear parking sensors
There are various customisation packs available, too.
There's also a Style Plus pack with ambient lighting running throughout the car
The exterior style of the 500L is closely modelled on the distinctive 1950s-influenced Fiat 500...
...and the similarities can be found inside as well as out.
