Land Rover Discovery 4 SUV
reviewed by Carbuyer

The ‘4’ part of the Land Rover Discovery name refers to the fact it's the fourth version of a car that has improved in giant leaps since 1998. The latest Discovery looks much like the third edition, but it's in a different league for cabin quality. What's more, the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine is a real gem, it's powerful yet quiet and very smooth. Land Rover calls its Discovery ‘the world's most versatile car’ and it's hard to fault that claim - our judges named the car Best Luxury 4x4 in our 2011 CarBuyer Car of the Year awards. Of course, you’ll pay handsomely for that versatility, but few cars combine off-road prowess with practicality and luxury feel the way the Discovery does.
