I love it. Bought it over a year ago. My brother owns 2009 Nighthawk, after driving it I loved it. Gearbox is brilliant- Few inches up and few down between gears. Sharp and precise. Sound of the engine after 5600 revs takes your breath away. It's not one of thoose cars with boosted up fake exhaust that will wake up your neighbors at night. Huge boot and if you will fold your seats no problem with fitting two mountain bikes. Plenty of space for family of 4. Complains about rear spoiler are just stupid, plenty of visibility. Bad points : Audio quality could be better. Cheap squeaky/rattly plastic dash - takes some skill to sort. It does consume oil if used as a sport hatch(my case 500ml per 6000 miles so not bad at all).

The car I miss most of all. I'm not really a car person (it's motorcycles I love) but the Type R is the closest thing to a bike on 4 wheels. I did 60k in 4 years and it never missed a beat - ever. It felt like a an ocassion every time I got into it, and when ever I took an enforced break from it to drive something else for the week my senses immediately sharpened as soon as I selected 1st gear. The Type R is not the fastest in its class in a straight line (although its pretty damned quick), but boy does it handle well. The trick with the engine is to keep the revs up around the 5.5k mark and then it's like it's on a piece of elastic. Oh and the sound when it starts climbing north of 6.5k revs is wonderful. The beauty of the Type R is missed, and wasted, on some. There are no Turbo or Supercharger tricks involved here. It's all about the engineering. Unfortunately the coming Type R replacement will have 5 Drs and because of CO2 emission regulations a Turbo. Sacrilege. Damn you EU Regulators!

Had the 19 inch wheels on, awful ride, feel every lump and bump. 3rd gear is hit and miss, you have to double click it in. Mirror developed a fault on folding, probably the motor. The start button sometimes just whirred sometimes, the second hit usually started it. VTEC seems to come in too late, the car rolls and bounces all over the place, not what you expect from Honda. It had a new clutch and it still juddered a bit. Second-hand prices are falling at an alarming rate on the FN2 model. Inside it's nice and has a good spec, shame about the other stuff, the gearbox is pants and should put Honda to shame in my opinion
