Fantastic car, incredible performance from a 2 litre diesel with 65 to the gallon on trips. Reliabilty 100% and looks great with fabulous interior.

But for an annoying and difficult to rectify creaking seat this is a cracking car. A big fan of BMW cars and with excellent previous customer service from the main dealers this car easily sold itself for me and after 8 months driving is in a league of its own for drivability and real world running costs. I chose the 428i for its sweet engine and precise handling and it hasn't disappointed. It is incredibly quick from a standstill and can handle overtaking manoeuvres with aplomb. The 8 speed gearbox is a joy and I love that the whole set up and feel of the car can be changed at the flick of a switch. I went for the adaptive suspension and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the option.

I bought my 4 series used a year, it has the n20 engine which is very smooth for a 4 cylinder. But I am constantly regretting not getting the n55. Especially since they are priced around the same in the used market. The m sport package is really worth it and I recommend finding one with this option. The appearance upgrade makes the car look so much more aggressive and the upgraded steering wheel feels great. I have made a decent amount of mods to the car. 1: bootmod3 stage 1 93 octane tune 2: mishimoto oil catch can 3: Injen intake 4: evolution racewerks charge pipes (turbo to intercooler and intercooler to intake) 5: go fast bits diverter valve The only mods that are performance oriented are the tune and intake. The others are redundancies because the n20’s have parts that can’t handle the higher boost. Especially the charge pipes and diverter valve I also have a muffler delete and with the tune it sounds like gunshots. If you are going to tune I highly recommend these mods The car is putting down around 330 hp which is a stock n55 So if you can get a 435 or 440 I highly recommend it for tuneability. The tune alone on a n55 is pushing out 400 so as you can tell I am reminiscing about it. But besides that the F32 platform is such a great handling car. I live in the northeast and on mountain roads it is so planted and firm even on the stock p7’s, I also have spacers and wider tires but I don’t necessarily notice that much of a difference in the two Besides that it’s a great chassis and an excellent car, JUST GET THE N55!

I bought the car as I have always preferred a larger powerful car and this does not disappoint. After test driving the competitors the 4 series just blended the best points of them all. Some people say the interior is boring. I say it’s classy! It can shift when you put pedal to metal but on the motorway it can get about 40mpg! Great boot space and so far no issues other than the wiring loom for the flappy paddles failing (warranty and an apology). Not great in the cold weather though, haven’t tried with winter tires.

Read the reviews, yes the engine is a little noisy at start up, other than that it's great. Witchcraft MPG even in mixed driving! Looks amazing in estriol blue, 19inch bi colour alloys, massive stero system. I really cannot fault it. It's a heart and head car

420d Msport (Pro Nav, 8 speed sports auto with paddle shifters, m-sport brakes, 19 inch m403 alloys, alpine white / black leather). Just bought an ex-demo from BMW Cardiff (5 months old, £40k new) paid £30k. Pros - nice to drive, sports auto good, paddles a novelty!, Cons - Very firm ride on M Sport suspension with the 19's, took a while to find the right driving position. Overall 9.5 out 10

Incredible driving experience, the mid-range torque is beyond impressive, I have the xdrive version and the grip is outstanding. Previous car was BMW 335d M Sport, which until the 4 series was the best car I've owned, but this new car is a league above. Stylish and well equipped.
