This is my third DS 5. I don't normally buy the same model twice but I absolutely love this car. I use it as a private hire taxi and do some chauffeuring work too. The car is a constant conversation point with passengers; I've never heard a bad word said. The car ticks all the boxes for me, stylish, comfortable, extremely well equipped, nice to drive with good performance, reliable and economical. My first one was the 2.0-litre hybrid, which wasn't worth the extra cost. My second was the 1.6-litre diesel which was economical and gave reasonable performance.

I did lots of research and discovered that DS5 owners seem to be very positive about their cars. Having owned a DS4 I knew the quality and performance would be good and to date have never had any problems or difficulties with the cars. It’s been a great choice, I’ve never been stopped so many times with people wanting to talk about the car. The auto is smooth and I’m currently averaging just over 50mpg on runs. (50 miles of country roads twice a day) The car rides fine on the 19’’ wheels, not too hard (better than many Audis I’ve run before) and far better than the press seem to suggest. The seats are supper comfy and with so many variations anyone should be able to get comfy. Good head room for someone over 6’ and with the slightly raised ride height you feel very secure. The LED headlights are excellent and the way the lights follow the steering wheel makes navigating the country roads a joy. I really would recommend this car.

Looks gorgeous inside and out. Beautful and original interior finish. Enough power in the 1.6 diesel. Semi-auto gearbox fine when using paddles and subtle use of foot, but a little jerky in auto mode. Quite refined, a little diesel raspiness in pick-up. Suspension lumpy in town on 17 inch alloys, noisy over bumps, potholes and ridges. Better on fast roads and motorway, but never totally settled. Quite dynamic and fun to drive. Practical enough for everyday use. Comfortable seats, could be better for very tall drivers like me. Overall, happy to recommend if you like your cars to be different and stylish, with a firmish ride. Had one mechanical problem: a snapped auxiliary belt which then damaged a crank sensor. Quickly fixed under warranty.

Not one to conform to the norm I first took a shine to the DS 5 for its looks and what it offered inside for the driver and passengers. Then I drove one and really fell in love with it, so I was sold and bought one. Some have made comments on it having a harsh ride but i feel its no different to my previous car which was a Saab 93 which i kept for 10 years. Its great on long journeys and its pleasurable and for a diesel its quiet.

Had my DS5 Sport from new. Added the 19" alloys and the white leather Interior. It is a company car and probably one of the best I've had. I do agree with the comments about going for the wider alloys though. You do notice the pot holes a lot more and it is a bit noisier. That said the sound system in excellent so drowns out any road noise. Solution - stick with the standard alloys (even if they don't look as good). Loads and loads of toys as standard, so very happy with the interior. Camera is useful as is the lane departure system as I spend a lot of the time on motorways. Heads up display is useful for in town navigation. Styling is great and it's nice to have something a bit different. Consumption is ok, but does drop a bit in Sports Mode. I would definitely get another one.

Very rare and distinctive, a pleasure to own and drive, very economical considering the 180bhp, and that I tow a caravan. It does everything I ask it to with a bit of French panache, it's one of those rare cars that you can't help looking back at as you leave it. Inside it's luxurious and very comfortable, everything falls to hand and just feels right, a real joy.
