I have had several times when engine just went into limp mode and then restarted. I have just suffered a complete engine stop on route to south of Spain and car had to be recovered ( Green Flag were very good). The garage replaced a split hose on the engine after a week waiting part from Germany. Cost 380 Euros. Off we went again, but after two hours we stopped at filling station for a comfort break and then it wouldn't start. It would turn over but not fire and after waiting 30 mins for the computer to reset it would still not start. Help arrived with local breakdown truck. The driver tried to start car and said it sounded as there was no fuel but the gauge said half full. We recalled Green Flag, again very helpful. After recovery, the garage mechanic pulled off the engine cover and looked at the fuel pipe between the pump and injector and there was what looked like air in the pipe which he then disconnected blow through with a diesel pump, reconnected and the engine started at the first turn. Cost 35 euros cash, great ! Good old fashion country garage. So we arrive at our destination in Murcia and following morning car starts first time and off we go shopping and on return I open bonnet and check the fuel line and there were 3 small air or water bubbles once again in the line !!!!!.

1/ All 4 alloy wheels have corroded. 2 were resurfaced under warranty, one outside warranty with a small contribution from me, and the 4th showed signs after about 2 years but as each time the wheels have to be sent away to Ford for at least a week, I gave up. 2/ The car has been in twice under warranty for a leaking roof seal but this has now developed again (I keep a beach towel in the boot to catch the drips) 3/ Passenger side window switch failed. 4/ Rear view mirror "Auto anti dazzle" failed

It's a nice car, good shape and doesn't look funny. It's better than voxhaul... It's a reliable car and drives pretty fast. It fits my height so i don't have to cramp up in it. I would always go for ford focus, especially st.

It is styled by "pininfarina",it`s a coupe-cabriolet and it`s pitch black. Need i say more!!

A ford c-max = a functional shopping trolley and the reskined version just release looks no better. it does a good job without style. So did steptoes donkey

I have the car serviced twice a year (Short jouneys) so it`s always in tip top condition.

The car has been a complete disappointment. When the fuel got down to the last third of the tank (between 69 and 129 miles showing on the trip computer), the car would just stop running (no fuel getting through). Put in some fuel (5 ltrs from the aa), and the car would restart (after being bleed). This has happened 6 times so far. Now the car is in the dealer with a leaking roof. The engine of this car was seiged on the car's first service, when returning the car to my home. I had a courtesy for 4 weeks whilst they rebult the engine. I have had a total of 10 weeks with a courtesy car. Not good!

I like the look of my car and boot space is fab. I dont really think it is xworth the money and prefer the sirroco but it was too expensive for me but i think its worth the money

Good value for money. Capable and pleasing to drive. Perhaps not as desirablke as tha vw eos but in my view stil a good car .It Is my 4th ford focus.

Up until a year ago the car was great and very reliable but since then there have been several breakdowns due to mechanical/electrial problems which have tarnished my views on the cars reliability. The last 2 breakdowns were alomist identical electrical issues due to water ingress which have cost me over £500 to fix each time. Despite it being a recurrence of the essentially same problem it took 13 days to be repaired last time which was a serious inconvenience.

I bought the car initially for my wife, but I became so impressed by the way it performs, I now want it for myself

What's the one thing you like most about your car?

The usual Ford passenger comfort combined with very brisk acceleration from 2 litre petrol engine and a ginormous boot, makes this a very useful car and oh, it’s also a convertible!

If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

The long boot makes judging the distance a challenge when reversing. So I installed parking sensors; works a treat.
