Lynk & Co is a brand new company by Geely, the Chinese giant behind Volvo and the London Taxi Company Their first car is simply called the 01, and it promises consumers an entirely new buying experience In fact, 'buying' is something of a misnomer, as the 01 will be available to Lynk & Co owners and subscribers That means you'll be able to (probably) pay a monthly fee and have access to an 01 whenever you need it The 01 will also offer 'always on' connectivity, and free mobile data usage Another modern convenience will be the ability to share the 01 via a smartphone app that acts as a digital 'key' Those forward-thinking ideas explain why the Lynk & Co 01 is fresh-looking, sure, but far from aesthetically revolutioniary Lynk & Co will launch first in China, where the 01 is expected to debut in the final quarter of 2017 UK buyers will probably have to wait until 2019 to get their hands on one Lynk & Co has also shown off a concept saloon called the 03, but it's not yet clear where the 02 is There's a theory that the 03 is a China-only model, and the 02 will follow the 01 in Europe Like the outside, the 01's interior is conventional enough The 01 is based on the next-generation of Volvo underpinnings, so it should be safe and easy to drive
