Peugeot RCZ R price announced
The new Peugeot RCZ R will cost from £31,995 when it goes on sale next week
The new Peugeot RCZ R will be priced from £31,995 when it goes on sale from 18 November, with first deliveries expected from 2 January 2014.
With 270bhp, the RCZ R is the fastest car Peugeot has ever built. It can do 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds and carry on to a top speed of 155mph. Power comes from a relatively small 1.6-litre petrol engine, allowing the Peugeot RCZ R to return 44.8mpg and emit a respectable 145g/km of CO2 – meaning annual road tax is just £140.
But the RCZ R isn’t about low emissions or impressive fuel economy – what matters is how it drives. The good news for sports car fans is that the R is set to be more fun to drive than any other RCZ, thanks to a lower ride height, larger brakes, and a host of other revisions. A new exhaust will also accentuate the RCZ R’s sporting nature.
Visual changes include a new fixed rear spoiler, unique 19-inch alloy wheels and black roof pillars. The car is 17kg lighter than the more basic models, to further improve performance.
Inside, the Peugeot RCZ R is sportier than the standard model, with new sports seats, a leather steering wheel and door trim, red-stitched leather on the dashboard and the metal gearknob that was first seen in the Peugeot 208 GTi hatchback.
It will be available in four colours – red, black, grey and white – and customers will also be able to choose from a range of roof designs and a variety of decals to put on the car.
The RCZ R features all the equipment from the standard car, including automatic lights, automatic windscreen wipers and cruise control, as well as air-conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to all this, it adds xenon headlights (with washers), plus a multimedia and sat-nav system.
