Car deal of the week: VW Golf Plus

Volkswagen is cutting the price of the Golf Plus S by £1,500, taking the five-door 1.2 petrol model to £16,310. The £1,500 savings are also available on the 1.4 SE petrol manual and automatic.

The Golf Plus is a more practical version of VW’s Golf, with sliding and reclining rear seats, a higher driving position and a taller body. This means there is plenty of headroom for lofty passengers in both the front and rear. With plenty of space, as well as comfortable and supportive seats, this family-orientated car is great at covering long distances –easily soaking up poor road surfaces while engine noise is kept to a minimum.

The Golf Plus boasts a five-star Euro NCAP crash rating and is equipped with plenty of safety kit as standard. It gets traction control, ABS and electronic stability control as well as driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, too. Security is also well catered for, with remote central locking, electronic engine immobiliser and alarm system as standard.

The equipment list includes a DAB and MP3 compatible radio on all models, and there are lots of extras available, including a multi-function steering wheel and touch screen trip computer that incorporates a DVD player, navigation and radio system.
