Deal of the week: Volvo XC90

Volvo is offering significant savings on several XC90 models right now. One of the biggest discounts is on the D5 ES Geartronic, which is available for £27,995 - that's £7,700 off the £35,695 list price. Opt for the higher-spec Executive model and you could save as much as £8,500.

Volvo launched the XC90 to great fanfare in 2002. It was the brand's first full-sized SUV and impressed with its family friendly seven-seat interior, chunky body and go-anywhere 4x4 system. And it remains a real contender in the ever-growing SUV sector. Its large boot is extremely practical, with a split tailgate making loading heavy items easy, while the three rows of seats offer plenty of space. There are also lots of storage cubbies inside.
